Our nature retreat in The Flemish Ardennes

'Casual & unusual'

Enjoy nature and get relaxed

Welcome in the Port of Refuge, a safe haven where you can get in touch - in a direct way - with nature and where you can have breakfast in an authentic setting in our garden.

We are situated in the rural environment of the Flemish Ardennes. Yet, the town centre of Zottegem is just a 15 minutes walk away and is also easy to reach by bike. We also have ample parking on the premises.

'We bring nature back into people's life'

Port of Refuge

Literally, the meaning of a port of refuge is 'a safe haven'. That is what we can offer, in the nature of the Flemish Ardennes. Our safe haven is a true sanctuary for those who are looking for peace and quiet in natural surroundings.

When the present owner was visiting the Kingdom of Tonga in the South Pacific, he also travelled to Vava'u, one of the archipelagos of this paradise like country in the Pacific Ocean.

The main town there is Neiafu. The small port, which has an inlet, is actually named 'Port of Refuge', because it is a place where sailing ships can look for shelter when hurricanes are approaching.

This spot is one of the most beautiful places on the planet and here in Zottegem, we want to be its mirror image - while more than 16.000 km away - and function as a figurative Port of Refuge.

The 4 seasons

We have a spacious inner courtyard with indoor and outdoor terrace next to our large natural pond, so you can enjoy the natural surroundings in the most optimal way.

Welcome!

During your stay in our nature retreat, you will wake up with all the sounds that nature can offer.

We like to treat you to a varied breakfast in a quiet setting. You can choose from a savoury assortment of sweet and salty spreads. And have a fragrant coffee or tea to start your day.

You can have breakfast in the breakfast room, on the covered terrace or in the open air, when the weather permits it.

There are plenty of opportunities to explore the Flemish Ardennes and activities to participate in.

What better day to begin your day?
